My buddy threw together some up and coming bands in Orange County, so my wife and I volunteered to take some shots for him to post on his site. No flash used, since I wanted to keep the mood exactly as I saw it that night, and shooting at iso 1600 (maybe shouldve bumped to 3200?). Wife used 5d and 85 1.8 and I used a 20d and 35L. Thought they came out ok, but we do need more practice. This was our first time shooting in a dark bar.

Studded bathroom doors...pretty sweet!

1st and (specially) second are nice. 3rd is underexposed & OOF I think. last doesn't do it for me, although I like the idea of focussing on the bass.

Nice shots! I'm not a fan of the angled-camera approach, but I know it's a common artistic touch in this genre.

Bar lighting is about as bad as it gets, generally speaking. It looks like ISO 1600 was enough to give you the shutter speed to stop motion.

If your output is intended for web viewing, there's no need to hesitate about going to ISO 3200 with those cameras. After resizing, you won't see any noise. And it may give you an added margin of safety if you want to stop down a bit for more DOF.
