Hi folks! First post here, so play nice :)

Anyways, I've had my s230 for a little while now, and for the life of me i can't take a clear picture with no flash. Everytime i turn the flash off, the camera never seems to be able to focus. Always have the "shaky camera" symbol at the bottom....what do i do?

Do i have to play with ISO setting and exposure setting and all that?
Same thing when i put the flash setting to Night Shot. I can't zoom in and get a clear shot...always soooo blurry....
Making me mad!!

Thanx people for the help :)

AutoFocus is based off contrast of the subject. At night time there is less light for the camera to focus on the subject. Perhaps there is an AF assist lamp that is turned off in the menu? Turn it on. This will help focusing at night.

If you still can't get a decent focus, see if you can manually focus. Here you would just guess the distance and select it. Usually you'll be close enough if you select a small enough aperature.

As for the camera shake. raise your ISO enough to get rid of it - or, use a tripod or brace your camera by holding it against something.

I have no idea why you can't zoom in during Night Shot mode. Check your manual for that.
