Pro DX/DX are for digital cameras only (APS-C format)
Pro D/D are digital and 35mm film compatible
Lenses marked with PIE2006... they will be displayed in the Photo Imaging Expo 2006 in Tokyo (3/23 to 3/26). As viodea had pointed out, these lenses are scheduled to be available in summer or fall.

I bought an ATX pro DX 12-24 a few weeks ago and, unlike ef-s lenses which cannot physically be mounted on a full frame body, it was quite happy to be mounted on my EOS 5 (a2). admittedly it did vignette interestingly from about 16mm downwards.
the results from my EOS 20d with this lens are extremely good.

Im waiting for these two as well. How is the AF on Tokinas? I tried the Tamron 17-50 and it seemed OK, but I perfered the AF of my 17-85 IS.

Released as a pair, for roughly $500 and $600, respectively, IMO they would easily compete with Canon's EF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM lens and be a nice low-light alternative, while extending the lower and upper ranges... exclusively on an APS-C sensor.
50mm does seem like a natural break... and Tokina went the extra mile to get that 50-135mm f/2.8 range coupled in there, too. I say, "Good Job!" Can you imagine how cool this pair would be with anti-shake thrown in?
If costs go higher, though, they may just price themselves into another market... where there may not be any interest. Full-sensor need not apply.
PIE = Photo Imaging EXPO. It was a show held in Japan, last year.

I myself am waiting on the Tokina 17-50's. Both Sigma and Tamron have competing lenses, Tamron being better, but I wanted to find out how this Tokina lense will do, and I'm hoping it's good. I wish it was coming out sooner, so I could have it by summer, but oh well.
