Hi.
I use win2k professional and have downloaded and installed the latest twain drivers as well as well as the latest version of Zoombrowser.
But when I connect my cam to the computer via usb the Camera Window 4.0 doesn't find the cam. I can use it with any other program like imaging or Paintshop pro. But I want to use Zoombrowser as well. Tried the same on a Win Me machine with the matching drivers and the same result. What am I doing wrong? Please help if you have any suggestions.
Everything looks fine in device manager etc. It seems to be some screw-up in the software. Thanks in advance.
Regards
Peter

Which Canon Digital Solutions Disk are you using? If it's not a version 12 CD, it won't work.

Hi.
That's great info. I got version 9.0 in the package. But since I updated Zoombrowser and latest twaindriver shouldn't it work then. Or do I need the whole version 12 package? If so, how do I get hold of it? Is there a whole downloadable package somewhere. Please help me out. Thanks for your help.

Hi,
You have to uninstall all of the canon software that was on the cd-rom. Make sure your camera is not connected to the pc till you have reinstalled the whole software package. After installation you can open zoombrowser ex and connect your camera to the pc. A window should pop up saying that new hardware is detected and your system will search for the twain driver (wia is for win me and xp). This should work. You can then check in the device manager if your camera is listed.
Hope this works

Hi.
Thanks, will try that. My camera is already listed in device manager, but only as "Canon Camera" so it doesn't recognize it as an IXUS 400. But I'll try it your way and get back to y'all. Thanx for the help.

The new TWAIN drivers won't help. You need the version 12 software. The only place that I know that you can purchase a DCSD ver 12 is from Canon. Just call 800-828-4040 and press the selection for Sales.

Hi.
Thanks for the solution. The reason I got version 9 was that the CD:s were missing in the box when I purchased the camera in the store, so the salesman went out and got some discs from another, not IXUS 400, box since the one I purchased was the last one they had in stock.
So I will give them a call. Thanks everybody for helping me out.
Regards.
