Does anyone here use one? Was it worth the cost? Which ones are you guys using? I'd be interested in hearing the differences you've noticed (or not).

For what? I create one everytime I calibrate my monitor.

I'm assuming you mean printer profile?

I create custom profiles from scanner/film/digital sensor/printers....etc etc...
PM me for pricing.

Whoops sorry. I meant having the camera profiled and tagging the images that it produces.

My impression is that camera profiles can be useful in a controlled studio environment (where you'd capture the image used to generate the profile), but are not accurate enough for use outside those precise lighting conditions. However, I've never used one--I'd be very interested to hear from someone who has, and has more than just academic speculation.

Camera profile is too linear... Unfortunately, light capture by a camera linear, but a scene is non-linear.

dbump is right.
Profiles describe the performance of a device in a given steady state. Creating a profile for a stable, unchanging studio environment could be worthwhile.
But creating a "General" profile that works better that what is provided by the manufacturer could be near impossible.
