Hi folks,

I am having trouble getting the hang of G3's manual
focus. I have tried my best to adjust MF such that
the object in the LCD box looks sharp. However,
after I take the picture, it often appears blurred.
I have tried using the 'distance measure' in the side, but I think my guesses for distance sometimes go bad.
Any tips on how to get manual focus to work right ?

Thanks,
Balki

Have you tried focus bracketing? It works well for subjects that aren't moving around on you.

...sometimes when you are trying to fiddle with manual focus, you don't notice the camera shake. You then think the motion blur is focus and go back into the vicious circle.

On such shots, especially macro, I've take to using a tripod and using the 2 second timer to shoot to make sure there's no shake.

Did you try this?
When in manual focus push on the "set" button
each time you push on "set" focus is adjusted (automatically).
After 3 or 4 time the focus did not move anymore, if the figure make sense. (not 2m for 30 cm)..shoot
