hi,
does anyone know how to make a small thumbnail appear in the latest news?
and make it linkable to a larger size?

You could use an IFRAME with snippets inside.
Or just an ordinary link with a selected image, like I do.

I know this sounds like a broken record but anyways: In EE 2.0 you can choose any number of photos from an exhibition to accompany the news as linked thumbs (on news page). Tagging exhibition thumbs to news also means that the news is displayed only for those who have permission to view the exhibition (logic rules!).
I have not coded a thumb to news exceprts on front page (which are linked to news page), but that will happen too.

You are just teasing us now. Attention.... Attention.... Pekka is just toying with us. He has been finished with 2.0 for 6 months now and is just doing a social experiment. He will publish a paper when he is done. "How to get people from around the world to hang on your every forum post." Thats how he really plans to make money. Why else would he release EE 2.0 as freeware.
All kidding aside great work Peeka.
