Hi
I did our local motor show yesterday with my 25-105. I had the 10-22 in the bag also but didn't use it. I did three passes from one end to the other. The final pass with the 580EX on. Almost all me shots were at high ISO (800+) but this was due to local lighting conditions and what I'd set the camera on.
Lens choice kinda depends on the type of shots you want. The 17-40 will help you to get all the car in, but the 28-70 may give you just enough reach for the smaller details. Definitely take the flash, and the fast lens will certainly help under what will probably be widely varying light conditions. I think I'd also throw in you 70-200 incase the 28-70 isn't long enough. I think that the monopod is a great idea.
You mentioned that your in a wheelchair but not whether this limits what you can carry. Just going back to your gear I think I have you carting all but your primes:lol: seeing that you zooms are mostly around the same F no.
Some of mine from yesterday. See here

I'd definitely take the 28-70L. The f/2.8 could come in handy indoors, even with the flash.

i have a underarmor backpack i could use, i guess for the extra lense, but i think the 35mm will fit in my pocket fine... The 28-70 coulbe next to me in the chairseat. I have a crutch hanger thingy(not surte what to call it) inthe back of the chair. So i think the monopod could ride ther fine till needed..If i act the Cripple ;) they might let me in closer when others cant :). anyway im very new to this so it will give me practice

I would take the 17-40, perhaps 28-70. In addition, as lightning can be really weird, unless you already do, I would shoot RAW to get more choice for PP-adjustments.

28-70 f/2.8 - that's all, keep it simple.

i say bring the 17-40 and 28-70. at a car show, you want to catch some close up, angled and wide angle shots....28-70 might not be wide enough
