My camera is a 300 D (Digital Rebel) with the BG-E1 battery grip. When I try to use my 70-200mm f/4 L lens with the Canon lens collar tripod mount the quick release lever physically interferes with the BG-E1, preventing me from mounting my camera on the tripod when configured in this way. I am using an inexpensive Quantaray tripod (QSX-Digi Pro 8500). I have been wanting to buy a better quality tripod ever since I purchased the Quantaray tripod. I have read a lot of the forum discussions about tripod legs and tripod heads. I am thinking about getting the Bogen Manfrotto 3021PRO legs. I would like to purchase a good quality ball head. I can't afford the one I want (Arca-Swiss $400), so I need to find another ball head that will get me the most quality I can get for about $200. Is there a ball head and quick release system that will solve my interference problem when using my 70-200mm f/4 L lens and ring mount with the BG-E1 battery grip? I hope I communicated my issue clearly enough so that some of the people on this forum will be able to offer some specific guidance.
