Hi

I want this cord but longer, to move my flash off camera. I've seen a few people do custom jobs splicing wires etc, but I don't want to risk that personally.

Does anyone know of anywhere selling such an item?

I have a 350d and a 430EX I want to put on a separate stand.

AFAIK, the only cord out there's Canon's. If price is no object, you might consider an ST-E2 or a 550/580EX.

You can put two (or more) of them together, however that is an expensive solution.

Check out http://paramountcords.com/---they make long off-camera cords, albeit at a premium price!

There was a thread not long ago explaining how to make one yourself. So if you're into the that kind of operations you might use the forum search function and give it a go.

Some folks use stranded Cat 5e cable and mini DIN connectors. I made one "ghetto style" with some random wire at random lengths, held together with tape.

There are 2 good threads about this...just do a search. I lengthened mine using two mini-din extension cords.

The ST-E2 is great. It also has an autofocus assist which is extremely handy, especially with the 350D which has such a poor autofocus.
