61355Hi, wondered if you guys could give some ccs i have focused on this snake today and through the lens it seemed so sharp and even with a little processing it still does not seem sharp to me. i have 40 or so shots like this one from today. this is a new 20 d and new canon 100mm macro as i dropped the last one. Is it just paranoid me or what

In the first one the snake's head seems in perfect focus but there are near and far parts that are OOF. Otherwise they look good. Post 100% crops for scrutiny if you are concerned about your new lens/camera.

Neat captures.
If you have doubts about the AF, it might be an idea to first check the dioptre setting on the viewfinder, then find a nice bright stationary object about the same distance away and try using MF with the shutter button half pressed and see if the Focus point lights up when you think it is in focus. Now you will tell me they were MF anyway :)

Nice images Jerry but why do you need a macro lens for such a large subject ? ...
