I was a little leery about going to a digital camera. I wanted to move to something newer than my 20 year old point and shoot, but I was torn between going digital and getting a good SLR.
I broke down and bought the G2 after a lot of comparing and soul searching.
Even after taking a lot of shots and thinking they look great on the screen, I was still a little apprehensive with what the "developed" results would look like.
I had tried printing some on my HP970 (which I love) and they looked very good, but not quite the same as a picture.
I just had to tell everyone that I finally received the first set of prints that I ordered from some of my G2 shots. Results... I was astounded with the results. I sent them to Sams Club (Fuji processing, very cheap) and ordered a mixture of 4x6, 5x7, and a couple of 8x10s. I have got to tell you that they all look GREAT! The 8x10s just totally suprised me; I never would have guessed they were digital. All in all, I think I made a very good choice of cameras for my shooting needs.
I was also worried about Fuji adjusting the photos, but I cannot tell that they did anything to them. Sounds great to me; I don't want them fiddeling with what I send them anyhow.
Just FYI, I only took shots in the M1 mode with medium JPG compression. Now I am ready to try RAW and see just how big of a clean print I can get. Of course that will have to wait until I get just the right shot.
Happy shooting everyone.
