Very impressive. Nice detail on the last shot, especially.
The first shot is interesting - but I would straighten the verticals - it seems slightly distorted (due to the wide angle?) That will take care of the little sliver of window that is visible on the extreme right edge of the image... I like the 'dreamy' feel of it though.

Thank you, yeah it was because of the wide angle. If I were to add these to my portfolio I may do a little more editing, heh. :)
Good point about the window to the right.. didn't even see the little sliver of it!

This are all great shots, I especially like number 3. What technique did you use to soften the highlights? New Layer>Layer Mode Screen> Gaussian Blur?

Would seem like they could make it that easy right?
I'll explain how I do it. :)
(You have your new untouched photo open)
Duplicate the only layer you should have. (the photo, lol)
Now on this new layer (pry named "background copy") Desaturate it. (image > ajustments > desaturate)
Posterize the copied layer .. (image > ajustments > posterize) I usually only use 2 or 4.
Now gaussian blur the copied layer until you can see no edges at all.. experiment with it. My 1st image on this page has very high blur while the others have less.
Now with the copied layer experiment with the drop down.. I usually use "screen" but go ahead and check them all out. :) Oh and my opacity of the top layer is 45%!
It usually comes out with a much more glowy effect than the other way. :) I hope all that is followable, good luck!

Wow. This effect is really really cool! I followed your steps, and this is how my first short turned out. Definately more experimenting will be done! Thanks for the technique!!

They are good, but that last one really does it for me. Looks like a beautiful place and the black and white is great.

Wow looks like you all liked to try it out! :)
Did you all do the gaussian blur pretty high? I forgot to mention the amount I set mine at. Doesn't really look like it to me but I could be wrong! I redid yours Sezzy Sue.. if you don't mind, since you have the original. :)
I didn't follow my exact steps here since after I did I noticed the image didn't look too much different. I think that may be since there's trees and so much detail to the image.. does that make sense? Maybe... :D
(I actually duplicated the duplicated layer and added 2 layover effects and then sharpened the original non-edited layer.)

This is how blurry I made it..

Oh on another note I didn't really need to make it that dark. I'm just weird and like the gloomyness to it. :)
My gosh I'm making this post too long but I love the picture "Gondela at the Venitian" the water is so CLEAR! Amazing, I want water like that!

Wow that looks a whole lot better thanks I will try it again from home. I was cautious when doing the blur because I never did screen before and wasn't sure of the effect. thanks

Ooh I like them! :)
Trying to think of anything else I could add.. maybe mess around with image > ajustments > curves to change the dark and light. Can't think of anything else. :)
And I need to get to bed, have fun everyone!
