Hi all,
Reading through this:
Clicky! (http://www.macdevcenter.com/lpt/a/2849)
It suggests that rather than using the cameras Auto white balance it is preferable to shoot outdoors using the cloudy setting since this gives pictures a warmer appearance.
What does anyone think of this? I'm not too keen on the idea, simply because you could always 'warm' the images up in photohop if necessary.
I'd be interested to hear your views.

I say shoot in RAW mode... then you can decide later which WB looks best...

Yes, shooting in RAW mode is always a secure solution.
But I like the challenge of shooting with the right camera adjustments in JPG and therefore it was an interesting link that sidebp mentioned to the Top Ten Digital Photography Tips. Thanks for the link.

Shooting raw or jpeg doesn't make any difference!
You could always adjust tonality in post processing, RAW just give you more latitude.
In my opinion it's better to be confident in your camera AWB mode that do a nice job and give you a good start for post correction, an alternative is to use the manual white balance.
I don't know if it's more easy to correct a yellow face than a blue one?
I shoot some picture that are quite impossible to compensate properly (always a cast in one part of the image)! This occurs when shooting with a poor light quality (indoor or outdoor).

This is another interesting article on using a higher temperature setting to create a beautifull warmer aspect right off the shelf!
And also the explanation of the benefit of a warm filter.

I should give a try!
