Hello All,
Great forum.
I am new to photography and just got my 10D. I am thinking of submitting these for a pet calendar, I get one month. Please let me know what you think. Any suggestion or comment is welcome...I think.

Thank you...I should have asked in the original post but...
Is the composition too tight? I didn't crop these pictures so I would need to reshoot but I can arrange that quite easily since she is my dog.
Which of the two do you like better compositionaly speaking? Which would you submit for the calendar?
Any constructive criticism would be greatly apreciated. I just started and am focusing on portraits for now.
Thanks again and please do not hesitate to post comments I need the input.

PS. I just got the embedding to work if you didn't notice.

I would post the second one. The coloring of the coat really shows well, the reflection in the right eye is great, the expression on (her?) face is clear, but also causes one to wonder, and the whiskers seem to be sharper. This is a great shot that would contribute well to a calendar. I try once in a while to get one like this! Any action shots of your friend?

they look great.
my comment is that you may want to consider the background carefully when you take the next pictures, I found the green stripes a little distracting
also, the 2nd pic is possibly better, but looks a little dark.. maybe just because the first one is so light tho.
im no expert tho.
thanks for the post, good pics

Both shots are nice. I agree the stripes in the background of the second shot are a bit distracting.
One consideration is that a vertical shot may not fit a calendar format very well. Does the calendar maker have a preference for portrait or landscape shots?
