Since i take the most photos of my car I actually want them to get better.
here is a shot I took today. I removed the truck in the photo, if you can't tell there was one there in the first place then I win.
other than that i adjusted the levels, saturation, contrasts, sharpened the photo by one notch. this is a 100% crop
please let me know what you think.

100% crop? what did you have composed in the origional. light looks great in this but nothing really strikes me. kind of a bland background and setting. too much empty space for me...it could work if you were in an open field or something like that but there is a sign in the frame a house and you said there was a truck. good job photoshopping that out by the way.

100% crop, as i understand it, is when the photo is "out of the camera" the full photo.
i agree with your comments, and thats why i put it here. i want to make the photo better.

Got rid of the sign and the building. kept the dome, cause it kinda looks like the moon or something

Hi, first of all you did a good job with the removing of various objects from the photo. It's hard photographing something white and shiny in strong sunshine - balancing the image so you don't get blown highlights is difficult. Also, I'm not 100% sure about the composition, although I've never taken a decent photo of a car, so I'm sure you'll get some more constructive feedback from others.
Finally, a 100% crop, is a section of the image at the size it was captured, and not resized - e.g. if you post an image 800 pixels wide, it would mean you've cut out an 800 pixel wide section from the original (much bigger) image, and not resized.

thanks for the kind words, and I did not know that about the crop factor. thanks.

Yup, your editing seems good. But WHY are you taking "the most" pictures of your car? A particular challenge, or skill you're trying to perfect...?

well think of it this way, its the thing i'm with the most, other than my computer and i cant pose it around the city.
I actually really like my car and have thrown plenty of money in it. I find composing car shots. they offer a good challenge.
I also document everything i do to the car by photographing it.
I know i would benefit from a ND or circ polarizer but i dont want to buy it for my kit lens because i want to eventually get the 10-22mm.
my car is the single thing that shows up the most times, alough it probably accounts for 5-10% of my photos overall

You've thrown plenty of money in your car? Dude...if you have more money in an old Honda Accord than you do camera equipment you've been ripped off. (I drive an '89 Maxima that I paid $950 for.)
Um..with that said, cheap, used Japanese cars rock!
But anyway...good pics, but what happened to the wheels and tires?

WAY more money than in photo gear. the 1d bodies and L glass i would have
but i love it. the reason for wheels and tires, its still winter here. these tires get me out of everything, so far. once the snow melts and the roads are cleaner these go on.
http://www.bigtuffguy.com/cb7/toyot1s.jpg these alone are more than errrr... the 50mm 1.4 and plenty of CF cards.
but then again there are people on this forum with dream rides. so its all a matter of taste and money.
i'm a university student who cant afford a lotus elise or f430.. yet. so i make due.

thought i was right about the crop thing but guess im no photoshop expert. i like what youve done getting rid of the house and sign. number 2 works best for me, once again lighting is great, angle is good, but the setting just needs to be different in my opinion. But then again thats all up to you. like the concept though

You did a good job on removing the truck. I was not able to figure out where it was!

thank you very much, I know it wasnt a huge part of the photo, but it presented its challenges for a newbie like myself.
i'm happy with the result
