unesseccery motionblur in my opinion... would look better just with DOF on the girl since she is in a steady stance.

I like it, even the motion.

When the photo would be 'calm', you wouldn't notice that she's dancing. Now you can really 'feel' it! (it even makes me a bit dizzy... :) )

She's also wearing a pants, not very typical for female Spanish dancers, but that and the way how she looks really give an attitude to her.

Love it!

That was pure gaussian blur done to the extreme. The background was so sharp and ugly that this was my way of dealing with it. Here is another of the same girl who gave a very impressive performance. She moved so fast it was hard to see her feet at times... just a blur. Thanks for the comments. ...Bob

So I am trying to figure out why the back ground is in motion? Is the the blur filter you applied or did you pan?

It just looks like a motion blur. I didn't move anything. What I did was make a layer in Photoshop and then did a very radical gaussian blur and then I erased the parts I wanted to be sharp. In the original, the background is tack sharp but too distracting I thought. ...Bob

I like it. Good use of the blur to isolate the subject from a messy background while also showing the movement of a dance

As James mentioned, you have certainly isolated her. My eye can't leave her at all.

I like the effect.

I think it would've worked better on the 2nd one had she been moving horizontally. Good job nonetheless!

These two pictures are favorites of mine. You had to be there to get the true feeling. Thank you very much for commenting. :-) ...Bob
