Just curious how often everyone is finding they have to do sensor cleaning.

For the second time since getting my 10D I have had to clean dust off my sensor. Talk about making me nervous.

Still have not had to clean dust off D60 (of course I don't use it as often these days, but I keep swaping lens off it so I would thin it would pick up dust also.

This time three dust motes (that I could see in the images), got rid of two by using air bulb (no brush); although it took two tries. The third just doesn't want to go, but it is not too annoying so decided to leave it alone for now. More worried about permantly damaging sensor then the dust spot. The other two were in the upper part of the sensor, so needed to get rid of them since they show up in the background sky. The third is in lower third so usually not showing up.

Interesting... i thought they had similar filters in front of the sensor. Maybe there's something else at play (maybe more static from the magnesium shell, etc. who knows?)

I need to get a new battery charger, and the CB-5L is only $55 from Adorama. Do you know if I can still do sensor cleaning with this charger on the D60? I know you need to be on AC power to do sensor cleaning.

I've cleaned my 10D about 5 times now (had it for 4 months). In around a year of D60 ownership I've cleaned it once. The 10D is definitely more prone to dust.

Unless it's different from the UK market CB-5L, it won't do it - there is no DC output to plug the adapter cable in.
