Love to get your opinion on this photo I took today. It was taken near a town called Peebles in the south of Scotland. Does the composition work good or not?

thanks
Martin.

Is that with the G3??

If so it looks great. The colors are good, and DOF. Everything seems to be in focus.

This is very nice. I like how the cow is not centered.
It looks like a postcard

mpaul73~~~Hello! What a wonderful picture :)
You do excellent work. I hope you get a large print made for yourself to frame. I am looking forward to seeing more.

This is a wonderful picture.

I love the play of light on the hill sides and you seem to get so much strong cloud cover. The line of grey village houses is crisp and clear against the darker hill side. Simply perfect. Reminds me that photography is all about light -- and you seem to be immersed in it. The middle ground row of brown houses is a nice soft touch with many warm tones and tints. No super saturated color here -- but strong colors all the same.

BUT .. I am not sure about the cow.

While you did not ask, I would opt to lose the cow. It (IMHO) creates a sort of pastoral tension that seems to me to be at odds with the rest of the scene. Now I may just feel this way because "We Canadians" are all supposed to BarBQ our beef this Saturday.

Keep up the good work.
(How about Loch Ness or Loch Tay, or Skye. ?)

I sure moo I mean do like this picture, the bovine seems to grab my attention the most however, is this what you want?

Me thinks this is the case because your cow almost looks placed. Did you USM the cow on it's own?

Overall, I really do like it.

Cheers,

Rob

that's a great picture. I'd like to note the nice contrasts in enviroment and colors. LIke you've got the cow field and stuff in front, the town in the middle, and the hills in the back. Very fine.
