I have been emboldened by the positive response to my first post, so here are two shots of my son learning to ride his trike. Any comments welcome.

The embedding didn't work but the links did. Next time look at the preview of your message and you can see if the embedding works before you post the pics.
Cute pics but the images do not seem sharp enough.

Thanks all for your help, the pics are embedded now!!!
I agree that these are not too sharp, I was using a 300 lens and think that perhaps there was some camera shake, particularly on the first shot. I guess I just love the photos, and sometimes you need someone not close to the subject to provide technical criticism!
Suzie.

Hi plarson - it is great, really beautiful. What part of the world do you hail from? Looks like a great place to catch a few fish!

Hi Sue
These two pics are great. You'll always treasure them.
They are sharp enough for me.
When sharpness is important, here's a useful tip.
I've mentioned it, maybe when you were not there.
Use the focal length that you are using as your mininum shutter speed for hand held shots.
eg. 300mm lens. Don't hand-hold under 1/300 th sec.
Therefore safe to hand hold at 1/500 th sec.
28mm lens. OK to hand hold at 1/60 sec.
..................
These two pics are excellent.
Well framed, vertical and nothing cut off.
Expression is excellent and spontaneous. (S)
Lighting diffused and good. (L)
Background plain and unobtrusive. (R)
On the lighter side Sue, this boy is becoming a dare-devil rider already.
In the top pic he's riding with his eyes closed.
In the second, it's "Look Mum, no hands ! "
Seriously Sue, your pics are excellent.
Well done
