Great pictures! As someone who is trying my hand at shooting indoor sports (Tae Kwon Do) would you share your settings? I need all the help I can get. :o Thanks!

Thanks for the comment.
These shots all have the exif, but here's a quick summary.

#1 and #4 were shot manual, ISO 3200, f/4.0, 1/400 with 70-200mm

#2 and #3 were shot manual, ISO 1600, f/1.8, 1/800 with 50mm

Hey Chris - good example that yes you can get shots with an f4 indoors, you just need to choose your shots differently. Congrats to the ladies... and to you.. you have some nice images here.

Cheers

Thank you Mark. There's definitely a different way of shooting when you're using f/4.0.

Chris: I've seen your basketball shots quite a few times and been impressed by those. You difinitely did a very good job with 70-200 lens shooting at f/4. I'm just curious. You shoot BB a lot, why you don't have/use the 85mm f/1.8 lens, which is considered to be a "basketball lens"?

Thanks for the comment Amorous! I appreciate it.

The main reason why I'm lacking the 85mm: I don't have the money :)

The other reason, I feel like 85mm might be an awkward focal length for how I shoot. The 50mm is perfect for anything under the hoop and is sometimes a bit too long when the players get extremely close. When I switch over to the 70-200, I am doing it primarily to get 'in the face' of the players and often use it at the 200mm length. I know that many prefer the 85 for basketball, but I haven't had a chance to try it yet and find the 50mm an awesome lens for the sport.
