Hi,

I just bought a $14 Sandisk PC Card adapter that fits in my Apple G4 Powerbook.

The read times seem to be much faster than hooking up my 10D via its USB cable.

My question: In the menu bar, there is a new card icon that when clicked says "Power Off Card."

Should I power off the card after I take the pictures off of it? Is there a battery in a CF card?

Thanks for any advice!

That icon simply stops powering the card so you can safely eject it. There are no batteries in the CF card but there is power sent to your reader, and this icon would allow you to leave it in place and nnot draw from the laptops battery.
