Sigma 17-70mm DC macro???

I'm not having much luck in finding a review on the Sigma 17-70mm DC macro lens. Is there anybody familiar with this lens and has results/opinion to share?

The more I read about this lens the more I like it. I'm debating should I sell my 24-70 to get this. I'd lose the 2.8 at long end but man, that's 17mm for walk around is nice.

This appeals to me as well because I am considering the Sigma 24-70 but its not wide enough for my taste on the wide end. The 24-70 is faster on the long end but I hope to eventually get an 85mm 1.8. The optics seem good on the 17-70 and its faster than the Canon 17-85 (though that one has IS and costs a lot more).

im also thinking about getting thiis 17-70 lens.. so far the quality of the pictures i am seeing seem to be worth it. i just hate the hassle of switching lenses because im lacking wide end on my tamron 28-75. its a great great lens, just not wide enuf. thinkin about selling the tamron and getting the sigma....... hmmmmmmmmmmm

I just wish the 17-70 was an EX with f/2.8 across the board. Its still not "slow" at the wide end but f/2.8 all across would be awesome.
