How do I draw a shape like this, but with a sharp edge? I did this with the eraser :o

You could have the teal? on one layer, select the area you want white with your free hand tool, smooth the selection and then cut. Is that the type of thing you're looking for?

I want to make a really sharp line, not something I can do freehand. Some kind of a selection tool that will do a diagonal line would be ideal.

If you click-hold on the lasso tool, it will show you all the related tools -- select the polygonal lasso tool. To use it, click *outside* your canvas. This will start an anchor point. Put the tool on the other side of the canvas and click *outside* the canvas. Now you have a line. Click another anchor point at the bottom left outside the canvas, then another one at the bottom right outside the canvas. Now you have 3 sides of a polygon.

Here's the slightly tricky part. Hover the tool over your initial starting point. When it senses it's over the point, a tiny zero (or an o, or a degree sign - call it what you want) will appear at the side of the tool. Click, and the polygon will be completed. Now you can fill it with color, and select the other space to fill with a different color.

The best solutions are always the simple ones. Thanks Nick :)

If you need the shape to be a specific angle, you can create a rectangular selection area and then rotate it however many degrees you need.

As always with Photoshop, there's more than one way to do this. If you want a vector shape, check out the pen tool and the paths functionality.
