Hello there:
I just posted yesterday regarding the difference in quality between wide angle converters. However something hit me as I was reading the G2 manual.
I should be able to get a wider perspective by simply using the stitch assist mode.
Now, I can't do anything about the telephoto side of the house, but if I am at the widest angle of the zoom range (7mm = ~34mm in 35mm photo), then I should be able to take two pictures with an overlap of 50% and get something like a 20mm coverage .
I know that this method will not yield the same as achieving the perspective offered by say a 20mm lens, but I can always work in photoshop to make the image look right.
It might not be perfect, but at least I wouldn't have to pay for the extra items as well lug them around.
Is this a valid alternative? Has anyone played with this issue before?
Thank you,
Carlo
