Is there a way to save the Raw file as a Raw using RSP? I want to use RSP to modify my image to my liking then open it using Breeze Browser Pro so i can extract the jpeg from the Raw for my website.

thanks!

Not to the best of my knowledge, and I highly highly doubt it.

Why not just output a JPG from RSP? You can size it on the fly, too. Add sharpening, etc. There's no reason to go to BB just to get a JPG.

RSP will only output as JPG or TIFF.

Why wouldn't you just use the "create proof" button on the top row? I just made a bunch of 400x600 pixel images for my ski club to put on their web site. My procedure was as follows:

I went through the directory, selecting the images I wanted to use and doing all the adjustments. As I finished each one I flagged it with the little flag icon. (I could just as easily have used 1, 2 or 3, but some images were already numbered for other purposes.) When I had selected all the pictures I wanted I hit the tab with the flag on it so only the flagged items showed. Then I hit Ctrl-S to select all the images in that view. Then I hit the button for "Create proofs from selected images" on the row of icons just above the view tabs. In that I selected 600 pixels for for maximum height and width, selected high quality and made sure the boxes for adjustments and sharpening were ticked. I also selected the directory where I wanted the images stored. Then I just pushed the button and sat back while the whole batch of 400 x 600 pixel images were created.

I don't see any advantage to using Breeze Browser for this.

Thank you for the help! The only reason i was going to use BB was that i read on other threads that extracting the jpg from the Raw file was a better quality than doing a save as. But i will try the proof and see how it goes, thanks for the procedure!

Is there a way to create the proofs from the adjusted images not the before?

Is there a way to create the proofs from the adjusted images not the before? Wouldn't you just select the correct Tab first?

There is no high quality JPEG in a .CR2 file. Older Canon cameras embedded the JPEG in the .CRW RAW file if you show RAW plus JPEG. More recent cameras save separate JPEG and RAW files.

If you want the best possible image from a RAW file, run it through your favourite RAW converter, and save in the desired format (colour space, bit depth, file type).

Ben, not sure if this is what you are thinking, but any embedded JPG file will not contain any changes you make to the RAW file. Just curious if perhaps you were thinking changes to the RAW file are reflected in the JPG.

When creating proofs, it should use the adjusted image.

ScottE, I finally get what the flag is for. :-) I always use up one of the ratings/numbers, when all I really need is a one-time, temporary setting. Thanks for the post. I can really use this when I pick which photos to send off for printing.

That is exactly what i was thinking...i thought the changes i made to the raw would also be made at the same time to the embedded jpg and at that point i could just extract it or make a proof and use that image for the web and save my raw as a tiff for printing.
