Not sure how to search out an answer to this question so please excuse me if it is old territory.

A company has asked for permission to use one of my images on its website. I'm quite happy to let them do this but what sort of conditions, if any, should I specify for it's use? Should I ask for some payment in kind - they sell coffee?

Any thoughts or comments on similar experiences appreciated.

Yes, ask for payment.
When you agree to it make sure you set out in the terms that they can use the image on the website only, and further use must be re-agreed.

There is a good link in the forum to a site that gives a good base for costings, I don't recall it but if the search doesn't bring it up I'm sure some kind soul will post it :)

I use a program called FotoQuote Pro, but it isn't cheap. There's also this web site that provides a similar, though much more limited service: http://photographersindex.com/stockprice.htm -- that's probably the site Richard is thinking of. I've mentioned both of these here before.

That's the one - thanks :)

Here's a link to the NUJ Freelance Fees Guide (http://media.gn.apc.org/feesguide/photo.html). On that link somewhere down the page is guidelines for internet usage.

Thanks very much for the links and information. I'll spend some time reading through it and go from there.
