I love the grill on Trabbies ... #2 makes it look like smiling car in a child's cartoon!!
I once saw a Trabant hit at speed by a Range Rover side-on. It cut the the Trabant in half with the rear of it pushed along the road in front of the RR snow plough style!
Nice shots.

I think he more or less rebuilt a custom chassis for it. If anyones interested I can send a web link to his other projects. Funniest thing was watching the faces on the eastern euro blokes as they were all stood around fannying about with their hatchbacks. All jaws were dropped outside the eastern euro commune as he drove past.

I see some hints of a sturdy looking steel frame in the pictures you posted...
A link to more from that car would be nice ... really nice conversion (although I don't really fancy the Trabant, especially not in that truly original colour  )
Best regards,
Andy

You might also want to take a look at http://www.bosshoss.com/ to see how nice a 350 or 502.c.i. Chevy engine looks ... in a motorbike

Hard to believe I'm the first to say:
Go Trabi, Go!
( That's the title of a classic movie featuring a Trabi, for those who are wondering )

Great link, and a very nice job! As you can see it's a very short wheelbase car, so should make for some interesting handling when it's finished! Oh... that's a masterpiece of understatment! http://photo.klein-jensen.dk/smilies/rotfl2.gif Nice to see that he has included a sturdy steering wheel!

He's making something for his missus at the moment, I'll grab some shots when he's done. I'ts supposed to look like the motor the anthill mob used in whacky races, though I've not seen it me sen yet.
