Hi, i know its a stupid question and there are probably lots out there, but are there any good tripods where you can remove a leg to use it as a monopod and replace it for a tripod?

Checkout the Promaster SystemPro 2 (http://www.promaster.com/products/products.asp?CatID=300&CatSM=&SubCatID=6&CatName=Tripods&SubCatName=Professional&sm=sm2_3006&dir=&page=PROD&product=5714).
The center column can be extended and used as a monopod. It's actually a pretty neat design.

I don't know if anyone sells Promaster in the UK.

Invest in a good tripod. 85% of camera crashes are fron tripods. Mono's are fairly cheap. IMO a one-in-all ain't worth it. There will be a compromise.

Thanks, I think your right, i'll get a good solid tripod 1st then maybe a monopod if i need one, it will be for mostly landscape and macro.

i was thinking the new Gitzo explorer G2258 if anyone has one and knows what its like, i think it's the same as the G2228 but lighter and a couple of mods but cost abt £30 more so should be worth it..

Thanks for all your help
