Can you use "flash" white balance setting when in the studio in place of a warming filter (i dont have 77mm hoyas) my studio lighting setup is "cold" . To my left i shoot with a reflected silver brolly (dont have a gold one) and at 45 degrees to my model i shoot through a white brolly ( the brolly isnt that white anymore and is also not very big) i dont have a softbox because my bowens monolites are quite old and old accessories are hard to come by (especially in my country). I used a piece of white polystyrene under my models face and it washed her out a bit. Please can someone give mw their thoughts on a nice lighting setup that works for them

You might try setting your white balance to 6000K, if this is too cold try 6500K or on shade setting if you don't want to mess with manual white balance.
