It seem Canon in Canada will impose penalties to dealers, who give some price break to customers.
Wow, is this price fixing or what!.
My dealer would like to match his price for a 10D, but seem to be afraid of the Canon salesman, who will come hard on him.
Can a company do this, in a free country?

It seems wrong? That is not evidence of foul play.

This is nothing new and it is not restricted to Canon or Canada. This is a common practice that companies use to protect their dealer network.

But some dealers use this as an excuse not to offer good deals. A good dealer can find other ways to help the customer, by offering free accessories in place of a discount price on the camera itself.
