What's the best way to trigger a studio flash setup with the Rebel XT. Is there a PC hotshoe adapter for it.

I'd look for one that offers a good connection. I've missed too many shots with my cheapy one I got with my strobe due to it sliding off partway.

I have the same issues having just purchased a very nice set of Bowens Espirits 500w. I rang up a 'leading store' to buy either a pulsar radio trigger or indeed a hotshoe connector. The chap advised me that I could try my 'fill in flash facility on the lowest setting' and this would hardly change the outcome whilst effectively triggering my lights.

I dunno what do you think? The thing is I haven't tried it yet or bought anything but I thought I'd give it a go and see.

Just waiting for my background to arrive before I crack on.

I bought one of these from ebay a last year and absolutly love it. It has worked perfectly ever time. It's pretty cool for the money.

Go ahead and get a pc adapter. Otherwise you'll have to use flash exposure lock before every shot to avoid interference from the ETTL preflash

I've been using my 430 ex on Manual (not ettl) at 1/64th power in order to fire my strobe. It works rather well it has yet to not fire properly.

1/64th of the flash's power is nothing in comparison to the strobes output, so it doesnt affect the shots (at least that my amateur eye can see)

I'm very hesitant in hooking up a pc cord to my camera. At some point something is going to tip, either the strobe or the camera.
