For raw files processing, I have both Aperture 1.0 and Capture One pro 3.7.
I haven't experimented thoroughly with them , but I would like to know your opinions, would one be superior to the other? coz I'd like to stick with one, Thanx for your help.

We use CaptureOne and it rules! Although I don't know what Aperture 1.0 is like, I can say that CaptureOne fulfills all the processing requirements we could dream of. I can only compare it with Canon's processor and that of Photoshop CS and it far outstrips these in terms of functionality and performance.

aperture tugs on the machine too much, and never been a HUGE fan of C1. Adobe ligthwave should be promising through...

i still use cs2....although i know a lot of pros that zip thru their stuff w/ the software that comes w/ their cameras, either the canon raw processor or nikon view

C1 by a mile. Aperture was a massive letdown.

I really like the interface of Aperture , very elegant, but extremely slow, C1 runs much faster , If speed isn't a factor, I'll probly stick to Aperture, Does anyone here run Aperture very smoothly?

I'm running Aperture on a G5 (2x2GB) w/ an ATI x800 (256 mb) and I think Aperture rocks for the daily stuff. Still use CSII for major fixes though. I read somewhere that Apple has an upgrade for Aperture coming soon. Generally, the faster your graphics card, the better Aperature runs.

you have a fast monster, no wonder.
Whereas I'm using a mac mini with only 32mb video memory

Aperture is really, really hard on the hardware as it is very dependant on realatively fast processors and really fast graphics engines. If you go to Apple.com's Support form, there is a whole discussion section about Aperture - it's good and bad points - and people really flamed it when it 1st came out. For the good or bad, I love it's workflow: shoot, upload, adjust, print or display, and archive. It allows me to work in a way that Photoshop and iPhoto did not. I'm sure C1 is very good at this also.
