What are your opinions on the 4.1 Megapixels. My biggest prints are usually 8x10. Is $1,400.00 for a 1D with only 10,000 shots a deal??? Thanks

Depends on your needs, and what you're using now. Do a search, this topic comes up every once in a while...

I am sitting here at the house just waiting on mine to be delivered. I sold my 300D to do this... we will see my friend we will see. I have researched it for a while and I am told i will not regret it. You looking to get a backup to your MKIIN?

The 4Mp are plenty for 8x10 prints and $1400 for a near mint 1D seems pretty fair, it's not a steal but you aren't getting ripped off either. Really a great camera to own.

I found another one with 11,000 shots taken for $1,250.00. It looks great cosmetically too. Might have to jump on this one.

Got to play with mine today... I like it... You have the MarkII so you already know the features... Better price than I paid... Oh well....

Couple more questions..........Does it use the same battery as the 1DMII's, I believe the NP-E3. And whats the shutter rated for??? Is it 200,000 like the other 1DMII's. Thanks for all your replies.

Yeah, I am looking for another speed demon without having to spend another $4,000.00 on another 1DMIIN. But, another 1DMIIN would be nice, hmmmm

Congrats Reewik... have fun with it. Ever since I got my 1D, others with Rebels, and 20D have looked at me with "camera envy".

Since you're coming from a 1D MkII N, one of the biggest things you might notice is the "crop-ability" of 1D MkI photos... this is where 8mp photos have an advantage over 4mp. Crop too far and you'll start to see the limits of the 1D MkI.

I think that's envy.

Well, I'm still waiting on my 1D (Canon Australia are taking abso-bloody-lutely forever to check it). But, having played with one for half an hour, I can say that I don't think you'll regret the 1D. You already have a 1d mark II, so you know what the 1D series is all about ;) Enjoy!

In the meantime, I'm pulling out my hair in frustration at waiting!!!!!!!!!
