View Full Version : Gee, I guess taking people are EASY...

I had previously posted that it was a lot of trial and error (repeat 1000 times) to get one good shot of a person.

Well, Marcia and I spent the weekend at Lake Arrowhead. We found a little critter that would literally take food from your hand. Marcia had a great time feeding him walnuts. THIS is what happened just as soon as I got focussed. (Which I spell with the word "cuss" in it!)

Upon closer inspection, I kind of like the resulting photo. I am asking for both critique and assistance. Critique on the photo as is - how does it stand just like this?

And assistance on any improvements. Given that going back and re-shooting is out of the question, what can be done with the image at hand. Crop? - Or is the empty space where he was part of the story being told? Perhaps color enhancement? It was pretty bland there. In any event, please share your thoughts.

I think the background tells a story. I wouldn't crop it.

Maybe you can take a picture of your hand, holding a nut out or something, and paste it into this photo at the bottom... like when you stuck your hand out... it took off. I dunno.

Well, I'm not sure it does anything for me personally. It just looks like a squirrel running away. There is a lot of empty space and one slightly out of focus animal facing away from the camera. Perhaps if you had captured his face or something. Note: I am only an amateur, so don't necessarily take my comments to heart. I can certainly see where others might find it interesting and might be able to help improve it.

The animal needs to be a bit more in shot. A faster shutter speed was needed here because it is too blurred or out of focus.

Martin.

Without major manipulating there is not much that can be done.

No point cropping or making any other alterations.

It's a memory of a pleasant outing and a squirrel that would
not co-operate. Leave it as it is. It will always give you a smile.
