Various shots of flies from the past year. :D

Shot with the 100mm and 50mm in reverse. I wonder what they were talking about? LOL

Same setup.

Same set ;)

Really large fly. I like the golden head on this one. I think I had the 36mm extension tube attached in this shot.

Dinner is served... this is a composite shot. I couldn't cath the two insects on the same focal plane...so I took a couple of shots and merged them together in PS.

Not going to tell you what this nasty fly was sitting on... let us just say it didn't smell very good! LOL I like the reflection.

Fly sitting on my car roof. We have tons of dust here in Phoenix.

This fly was shot on Okinawa... tiny little white and black striped fly. Shot with the 100mm @ f/2.8 This was one of the first shots with the new lens. I should have used a higher f/stop.

Chunky looking fly on Okinawa.

Hope you enjoyed the shots.

Wah, the last pict reminds me of the movie, "the fly".
The eyes are very well rendered.
May I suggest that you adjust the shadows setting as the right side is a bit dark.

The rest of the series are great...

what lense combo did you use?
Canon 100mm macro
Kenko extension tubes
50mm 1.4 attached to the 100mm in reverse

I used any combination of the above mentioned. For the top 3 the 50mm was attached in reverse. Most of the shots I take I use the 100mm+a 36mm extension tube. The working distance is fine and the extra magnification gives the image a little extra IMO.

Thank you Bama and Bald Eagle for the kind words. Thank you for the suggestion Bama...I will have a look. :)

Lovely series of shots on the flies, my faves are 4 & 8, 4 is such a nice shot, and I like the OOF effect with #8 (even if you wanted more DOF).

Many thanks all :) I was a little surprised at all the fly photos I have. :) Here is another one ...I like the contrast in colors and the eyes.
