I am very serious about shooting Motorsports. I love the tracks, I love the cars, I love the speed! However I am just learning....Im heading out to Atlanta Motorspeedway this weekend (very last minute, just found out yesterday) I have pit passes for all three days.....I have searched and read alot of great tips on shooting motorsports but I was wondering if someone would seriously consider tutoring me for a few days to get the hang of this....all i have is whats in my sig. I just recently bought the 70-200 f/4 so i dont know its full capabilities and honestly i still dont know enough about my camera to feel confident...i dont get spontaneous dream race trips like this often and now that i have much better equipment than i have ever had before i would like to try and take advantage of this experience. ( i was expecting much more practice at local tracks before i got my hands on Nascar tickets for the Charlotte race at the end of may)
Thank you in advance! I really appreciate any tips you can give for the specific equipment i have availible...... :)

Go out where there's traffic & shoot some jpegs & some RAW. Process them, then shoot some more. Etc.

Thanks Frank!!! I have already taken that advise....lol....i think people think im crazy as they drive by.... I have read alot posted by Gmen and as much as i could find on motorsports, its just sometimes you dont get enough about your specific equipment, although all the tips ive read will be valuable, i was hoping to learn about others trials and errors with the same lenses and camera that i have.
Thanks again! :) I will re-read all of those links! study and practice makes perfect!

OK, I always shoot on "M" w/RAW & get pretty good results. Here's a few from last year with the 70-200 f/4. I was pretty happy with AI Servo on the 300D, except that a few more focus points would have been nice. I found that it helped to rack the focus slightly while framing the shot to "wake up" the servo & get it to track.
