I have a Canon S50 and would like comment from your members re the Hahnel HL-2L as a direct replacement for the Canon NB-2L. Is the specification exactly the same for both items or am I obliged to buy the Canon only ?.

I've also been looking at replacing the 32MB CompactFlash for a 256MB model. Should I be aware of issues such as Read/Write for these CF's. I read about 4x, 12x, etc. Is it important to get a high speed version of the CF (256MB) or will the 4x do.

Finally, I'm trying to decide whether to purchase a separate reader for the FlashCard or use the camera to "download" the FC to PC with it's USB interface. I'm a bit nervous about taking the CF out of it's socket to be placed in the reader, on a regular basis. Your comments please

Ralph

I just got a new NB-2L as a spare which is 1000mAh compared to the NB-2LH which is only 740mAh. So I am hoping this new battery will last longer. But from reading other threads regarding this battery it does not? It don't make sense a 1000mAh should last a good deal longer than the std battery.

I'll find out I guess.
