Hello everyone,
Here’s some shots of bike racing from East Fortune race circuit in Scotland, this was the first time I’d been there with my camera. It’s a fantastic track for spectators you get really close to the riders I can’t wait till the new race season starts to get back there…

Super shots Klippie - excellent panning technique. Your shots are sharp and really well saturated. I like #2 - a good racing scene and your choice of shutter speed was spot on so as not to freeze the wheels.
Never been to East Fortune. Whereabouts is it??

Great pics! And THEY say the Sigma 100-300mm isn't good for motorsports...THEY just don't know what they're doing!

Excellent photos, Klippie...I like all of them. I only wish there was as much interest in motorcycle racing here in the states as there is in your part of the world. I've never even seen sidecars raced in person.

As said before, top quality. Love the sidecar image.
Which race meet is this?

One thing...why so much 400iso?
I'd love to see some 100's

Why?
Vary ISO to give the shutter speed and aperture that you want to use. If that means going up to ISO400, 800 or beyond then do so. The UK's weather at this time of the year does not give much light to play with.

Can you tell me what settings you used as I don't have the means to view the EXIF where I am at the moment.
I stay just a few miles from East Fortune and would love to get pictures of this clarity. Well done.

In the average UK winter, you'll probably get 3 days beween November and March when you can use iso 100...and that's only if you're very lucky.
I don't normally comment on Bike shots as i have zero experience of them, but these i like a lot, particularly the Sidecar.
I'll be having a go myself in a couple of weeks and if they come out half as good as the shots in this thread, i'll be a happy bunny :)

If you could post the editing you did with color balace...I would love to hear from you.....BY FAR....the best shots I have seen with a FAST moving subject.....I have tried at Road America and it is very tough to get a clean, sharpe, cropped photo like you did. I have plunked some cash down on a 70-200 F/4L and I am really looking forward to this year.....I hope you don't mind but I have made one my screen background.

Thanks for that. My equipment doesn't quite get to 400 but I would hope the Sigma with a 2xTC can get shots as good as these.

Hi everyone,
Thank you all very much for the kind comments, I’am sorry for the late replies as I’ve been busy lately.
Dengli,
East Fortune race circuit just outside Edinburgh next to the Museum Of Flight.
Boggy,
The race meeting was the Steve Hislop Memorial in memory of the late Scottish Superbike and TT race legend.
Turbotony,
I basically just tweaked the pictures in Photoshop adjusting the brightness, contrast , saturation and sharpness then simply re-sized the images for posting in the forum.
