Pekka, beautiful photos. Your work inspired me to get a G2.
Now I need some serious help! I am learning as much as possible, as quickly as possible.
After the first few hours with the camera, here are some initial questions:
1. In Auto mode, using internal flash, I am noticing that the histogram is usually not spanning the entire gamut, most often falling short on white levels. At times, white and black levels are lacking. Is it me, is it the subject matter, or is this normal?
2. I own a Sunpak 266-D external flash. It is my understanding that this flash will NOT work in TTL mode with the Canon G2.....I thought I would be able to utilize it, because I LOVE the effect the external flash has on child and family photos, but it is becoming apparent that I know NOTHING about setting DOF/ISO/etc., to gain well lit photos. Everything comes out over or underexposed, no matter what I try.
3. I am not getting the extremely sharp focus that I notice on several other websites (Pekka, yours in particular, I have a long way to go!), and I am losing detail in faces and cat fur/etc. What is the best way to bring out sharp detail in these difficult situations?
4. That's it for now, I am engrossed in the manual, and in doing web research.
