Pardon my question is the following one:
You can use by way of storage some removable hard disk of the type of the laptop (12 Gb/30 Gb) of 100 dollars, to keep the images directly of the camera, these calls cooldisk take energy of the PC directly for the cable of USB, in the same way that an expensive Picture Pad of 500 dollars. Is my question stupid, has some proven? Thank you.

I do not know of any laptop type drives that both can take pictures from camera and get power from computer via USB. The cheapest method of storing large amounts of images from a digital camera while traveling is I believe the X-drive II.

The $500+ Picture Pad allows you to view the picture as well as files which gives an added measure of comfort that your pictures are in the device.

The X-drive is far cheaper but does not allow viewing files or especially viewing the pictures, but it is the lowest cost method of portable image storage.

Both require using CF cards as intermeadiate device.

The Delkin Picture Pad does have accessories, so perhaps some day you could transfer the images directly into the Picture Pad, but otherwise I don't know of anything short of a full laptop computer.
