This lady has asked me to take photos of the basketball team she coaches. I have a price list for the prints, but my question is should I charges a setting fee. I would be going to the gym that they practice and take group and indiviuals shots. Here is what I charge just for the printing. The photos are all printed at a profesional lab. You help with this would be apprecaited. Thanks

I shot sports teams when I was in college. They are normally done by package printing and have a matte to put the images in.

An example would be ...
1 5x7 team
1 3x5 player
2 wallets player

You can get the memory mates here ... www.michelcompany.com. The sizes that they offer will give you a good idea as to what is the norm.

Or you can just get the digital 8x10 prints with the sports "matte" from www.mpix.com.

So what was your pricing? I marked my packages up 100% from what I get it from my local print shop and I also add each child name, number, etc during my post processing. Is that ideal to mark up your prints 100%?

it really depends where you are. in the dc metro we we're getting $12 for the above mentioned package. other photographers in the area were getting as much as $20. we did a little research and found that photographers in ca were only getting $2-$5 for the same thing because the market was so saturated.

i'm a newbie and amateur photographer. i was asked to do a photoshoot for a real estate project for a condominium. they want sunrise and sunset pics of the area from their roof. don't know how much to charge, if anyone has input, it would be greatly appreciated. also, how much should i charge for images for a 2 yr term for brochures, billboard and website. thanks

If you are not being paid a shooting fee or hourly fee then you need to charge a higher markup. I would probably charge $20-24 for an 8x10 and $12-15 for 5x7.
