Since polarizing can be applied in PS is there any benefit to attach polarizing filters to my XT? Thanks for your time...Frank

While PS can approximate some of a Pol filter's affect, it can't completely replicate it.

As a matter of style, I like to get the best image I can from the camera, and apply the minimum of post processing. Others would disagree with me on this.

"Since polarizing can be applied in PS ..."

No it can't. There might be a "polarizing effect" from PS but it's not the real thing. Sure PS will make a blue sky made bluer but a P filter also takes out reflections and saturates colours in a way PS can't.

The only two optical filters that I use now (other than UV for lens protection) are Polarizing and neutral density.

A good quality circular polarizing filter is a default component of my carry-around kit. I wouldn't leave home without it. You can NOT duplicate the characteristics in PS, you can approximate them.

Like DaveG said: Two filters are mandatory, ND and CP.
