I don't know the guy, but I like the expression in the second shot, although I don't like what happened to the bass player. Did you try to raise exposure in PS or something? There's no black left... Also a pity the 1st and 3rd shot have blown out skin. Would have been nice otherwise.

Yeha im not sure what happened to the second shot.. no post production... the pthers are hot. I guess I could fix them in photoshop but im no so handy yet. But I see alot of people making some sweet stuff with it... Ill learn sooner or later.

Second shot, 300mm f4.5, 1/60th ... interesting, tripod? Maybe a D70 does something interesting. Anyway, I don't mind the highlights being a bit blown ... it is kinda like high ISO and noise, just part of the package.

Sigh. Wish I knew who he was too. But congratulations on the opportunity anyways.

As for post-production - you can bring a SURPRISING lot of 'blown' details back from the dead, I've learnt - always worth trying to suck all you can from those pixels.

And the second shot has such potential - some judicious lightening will make all the difference.

Thanks for sharing! At least now, I will remember that John Prine is someone special and plays a guitar... for those pub quiz moments.

Lol hes a old country fold singer been around the world and looks the part today.

No tripod all handheld.

Im new to the editing photos idea. Take the second shot and show me what you can do... Ill work backwards fom that and see the process.

Thanks for the advice and helpful ideas... great forums.
