How do I find a wedding photographer that I can be an apprentice too. I live in Simi Valley, Ca. I have done two weddings already, you know, the friend of the wife for free type. I want to eventually make money shooting weddings, but I want alot more experience and training. Where do I start. Thanks

I think the best way to become an apprentice is to call around to wedding photographers. Make sure you have some of your best shots ready so you can show them what you can produce. Good Luck!!!

Carry his bag first, eventually shoot along, gather experience and a portofolio - until you know you're ready.

Well...i was asked by someone on here to assist this person at weddings etc. which i gladly said yes too, it's funny how things happen! BUT before that, i e-mailed a few people and a few knocked me back which was fine because i know it's a tough business, but i basically said id work for free to start off with and if they thought i was worthy of being paid after a few shoots then i wouldn't say no!

Im sure there are plenty around, you jsut have to make the effort, if they are the ones that are going to help you with your experience, you need to start at the bottom and work your way up and if that means carrying bags etc. at first then GO FOR IT!
