Love the color...not so sure about the B&W...I know that it was probably intentional but the blown-out parts don't do much for me.

Good PP on the colour version ... for me, the B&W loses a lot of what makes the first an excellent image.

I really like the color version. I especially like that tree that seems to be growing from behind the shutter.
Nice capture.

For me the title is an absolute turn-off. Nothing about this photo suggests war, even though the result/cause may be there.
The B&W version doesn't work at all for me. The color version could use more color saturation and/or contrast for more punch.
Love these kind of photos. With some creative processing, I'd love to hang this on on a wall.
Good work. You are almost there.

Title got me in, not much to suggest war though, more just urban decay. Like the 1st one.

I like the post processing on the first one as I'm a punchy kind of guy when it comes to my processing, but as mentioned by a few others, I'm really disliking the title because it feigns to make a strong statement and then has nothing at all to do with the photo.

Rough stuff. Where's the rough inhabitants to go with it... maybe a local could add to the photo.

This is my second viewing of this shot. At my first viewing no-one had commented. I decided not too because I was a little non-plussed by the title and was trying to see the link between it and the image -- at best it was tenuous. I decided to let time pass to see whether the title and content would make sense after some thinking time.
Returning now I read other members' comments which are similar to my intial thoughts. It is interesting how the comments highlight the effectiveness the title of a posting can have. Is this building in the old DDR, FKH? Certainly there was a lot of decay allowed during the Cold War and I suppose reconstruction after reunification is still happening in places.
Of the images I prefer the colour version. Composition wise, despite the delapidation, there is an element of lopsidedness which distracts me. My guess this is a building in a railway siding ...
A thought provoking post, nontheless: well done!

Thank You for the comment. It is nice to read thought the work makes in You. The origin of this photo is war related, so that is reason for the title.
