View Full Version : unable to load LinearSharpen Action

Having found the sample result of Pekka's LinearSharpen Action to be quite astounding I was eager to give it a try on a few of my own images.
However, whenever I attempt to load the action(same result with either the original action or the tweaked second version) I get a message telling me "Unable to load the action. Not enough memory(RAM)".
I have more than enough RAM(320MB) and allocate 80% for program usage.
I believe I've tried just about everything but with no success.
Possibly I could simply "create" the action from scratch if it could be made available as a text file?
Anyone else out there encounter a similar problem?

hi...

i know this sounds silly...but i'm always happy to point out the obvious...

in case you didn't know...this action only will work with photoshop 6...since photoshop 5 is not capable of working with 16 bit images...

other than the obvious...i've been using it regularly (thanks pekka : ) and haven't had a problem...do you have more than one image open? the actual application (photoshop) may be running out of ram...otherwise...allocate even MORE ram to your app...i've had out of memory hassles with the canon twain plug in (until i allocated over 100 megs of ram to photoshop..aww heck...it's cheap anyhow : )))

hope this helps...

Thanks Bob,
I should have mentioned my version is 6.01.
It won't even load with NO images open!
Guess I'll go back to the RAM "drawing board".
Like you said - it's cheap.
Thanks again,
Dave
