Canon new DSLR - 30D?

Hi all,

Anyone heard about a rumor that Canon will release a new DSLR (30D?) this month?

Where did you hear/read that rumor? I doubt if a new prosumer camera will come out this fast after the 10D..

Given the trend over the past year with these rumours,
my guess is Canon will release a replacement for the 1D sometime in September or October.

I expect more pixels (8-11MP seems a likely range)
Similiar FPS rate to 1D
either 1.3 or FF
cost between $3000 to 4000.

That is my best guess at this time based on multiple rumours from multiple sites and past trends in rumours.

In complete crystal ball mode: The 1Ds upgrade camera will come out in Spring or Summer 2004 and the 10D upgrade camera in Fall 2004. That is as far as my crystal ball will go.

I doubt they'll name it "30D", since many would confuse with the "D30".

I do, however, think a DSLR at around the level of the EOS-3 feature set, is coming before winter. And I know I'll want it. I hope it's under $2500.

anyone else going to the SEYBOLD conf in san fran next month?

i'm dying to get the 10D but it will totally suck if they announce something cheaper and better... :(
