advice on pricing photos to be used in book

On a recent trip to Asia I snapped normal tourist-type pics and posted them to my blog. Before long I received an email notifying me that someone writing a horoscope book would like to use them. The author asked what I would charge for use of several pictures. I have no experience in something like this and wondered what advice I could get. I would honestly be fine just letting them use the pics for free, but as a starving student I feel that any extra income on the side would go a long way.

i recently tried getting my photos published, i havent heard back on whether they are in there or not but they were giving $35 1/4 page $70 half page and $130 full page....not sure if this will help but might put you in the right direction of thinking
