Both shot from a moving boat... 1st is a crop as you all know they do not sit still very long so i could not get too close.. Just proves I need that 1.4x...

You know, some days while I'm shooting I hear this strange voice whispering in my ear, "1.4X Tele-convertor". I thought it was just me.
Love the turtle.

I got up this morning, hiked 6 miles through a gator, mosquito infested swamp with my sole objective to shoot a kingfisher. No luck. Looks like I will have to enjoy yours. Nice job.

Fast little fellas, especially in a boat going the opposite way at about 5 mph or more..

The Kingfisher is my nemesis...this year hopefully I will get something as good as this. So far my only shots are dots in trees:cry:

Put me on that list of "Kingfisher" wannabe picture taker!. I too have tried stalking them out without much success. They don't stay put too long and are very fast.
Knowing the differcult task at hand, I'd say you did a pretty good job in the short amount of time that you had! Nice job!

I would be very happy to have such a nice Kingfisher shot. As others have said they are very wary.
